The Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District (MCTID) announced the completion of the roadway improvements to US 40 as part of the I-70/75 Airport Logistics Access Project which began 18 months ago. MCTID marked the occasion today at a celebration ceremony with regional partners.
The $12 million construction project addressed roadway design issues while adding capacity to reduce congestion, improve safety, and support the development of the growing logistics hub. The work included widening a portion of US 40 to five lanes from just west of Union Airpark Blvd. to Airport Access Rd., improving the interchange at US 40 and Airport Access Rd. and general improvements to the water and sewer lines within the project area.
Michael B. Colbert, Montgomery County Administrator, officiated the event.
